what is a sump pump?
A sump pump is a submersible pump that is generally installed in the lowest point of your home. It works by pumping groundwater from under your basement floor, before it has the opportunity to rise into your basement or living space.
The pump redirects the water to the nearest storm drain, dry well, retention pond or a low lying area of your yard. When water enters the sump well, the pump is triggered on by a float switch and only activates when water reaches a predetermined level. By removing excess water, sump pumps prevent water from entering your home.

NEVER, EVER, flush objects down the toilet that could cause you problems. Wipes, tampons, dental floss are just a few items that should not be flushed along with excess kitchen grease and food scraps.
Maintaining your sewage pump annually, can double its useful lifetime to better than 10 years. Its a dirty job, but opening up the pit annually and cleaning the walls, pump and float devices insure that there is nothing for the float to get stuck on and will keep the pit from smelling “off”. Replacement of the check valve at this time is also beneficial.
This is again, a service you can perform yourself, but it is a dirty job.

Set up a whole appt. The guy never showed up, called and texted several times and never got an answer or explanation. Basement suffered damage as a result.
Sump Pump Gurus supposedly installed a new sump pump at a cost of $785.00 6 mo ago in July 2023 to replace my 22 yr old sump pump that still worked fine. The Gurus' sump pump failed during the rain storm on Dec 18, 2023. I called for emergency service 4 times, each time "Eric" telling me "someone would get to me" and/or he would call me back. He, nor anyone else, called nor showed up. I called 6 more times the next day (Dec. 19) with no answer at all! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! My basement has water everywhere and they have been unresponsive. They installed a failed product, and/or incorrectly installed it, and haven't the decency to remedy the problem as a result! Stay away from Sump Pump Gurus and find a genuine sump pump business with genuine, caring and decent customer service.

Sump Pump Gurus went out at around 6.30pm. We called and the service was very professional taking all our info. She told us they would come first thing in the morning and that the technicians would call at 7am to tell us when they were coming. They called at 7am as promised and arrived 30 minutes later. They were professional, neat and efficient, and explained everything in detail. They answered all our questions about our options. By 9:30 AM we had a new pump and tank installed and our water supply back in service. Amazing Service. We are very happy. The cost seemed very reasonable as well.
